Glossery
This is the introduction to the Glossery. Most of these terms do not have a "hard" defintion and I am generally against the idea of setting strict black-aand-white definitions for queer language. This glossery is here to define how I personally use these words on this website. This page is NOT here to police other people's idenity or language.

This page is very much under consturction and some definitions will likley be re-written multiple times before I settle on one (if I ever do).
Two Spirit
Two-spirit (also known as two spirit or occasionally twospirited) is a contemporary pan-Indian umbrella term used by some Indigenous North Americans to describe Native people who fulfill a traditional third-gender (or other gender-variant) social role in their communities.
Transgender
Transgender is a term used to define a person whose gender idenity and/or gender presentation doesn't align with the gender they were assigned at birth.
Transsexual
Transsexual is a term used to define a person whose gender idenity doesn't doesn't match with the gender they were assigned at birth, and typically experinces gender dyphoria and seeks medical transition to elivate that dyphoria via gender-affirming surgies and hormone therapy.
Transvesite
Transvesite is a term used to define a person who dresses in the clothing associated with the "opposite sex" of the gender they were assigned at birth. This person may or may not idenitify as the sex they were assigned at birth. Some people consider the term transvesite to be deragtory and outdated and perfer the term "crossdresser" instead, while others embrace the term transvesite due to the culure and histroy behind it.
Nonbinary
Nonbinary is a term used to define genders and people who do not fall into the gender-binary. This includes people that don't identify as "male" or "female", who only partically idenitify as "male" or "female", and people who consider themselves to be between the genders of "man" or "woman".

It also includes people who do not consider "male" or "female" to be binary genders (Ie: nonbinary men or nonbinary women), people who belong to "third gender" groups (such as some Two-spirit people and other cultures that have a "third gender" category.) people who do not idenify as any gender (agender), and people who idenitify as multiple genders (bigender, multi-gender, omni-gender, pan-gender, ect.)
GNC - (gender-non-conforming)
GNC, the abreviation of gender-non-conforming, refers to people who to not conform to gender norms. This includes cisgender people, transgender people, nonbinary people, and people who struggle to fit themselves into any of those labels. However, it's most often used to refer to people whose gender presentation does not meet the social expectations of their gender idenity and/or gender assigned at birth. (Ie: Butch women, femme men, androgynous people)
Genderqueer
Genderqueer is a term that refers to the queering of gender. This includes transgender people, transsexual people, transvesites and crossdressers, nonbinary people, and gender-non-conforming people.
